Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have shot down missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
It said debris fell on a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
