Hulu is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Minds of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The newest action-packed instalment that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for celebrating violence and madness with the same glee, all while weaving gripping, politically driven narratives. It’s no surprise that the network’s new order for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two producers whose projects have exemplified all of those things.
About the Series
Adapted from Ubisoft's successful video game series, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' format by introducing a fresh location and ensemble in subsequent series.
Creative Minds
Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series through their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
We’ve shared excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”
Upcoming Developments
Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we have no details on what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the showrunner.
“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX team continues to lift me up with their constant confidence and assistance.”
“What I love about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an standalone series. Every title is a take of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always examining the core of people through this intricate and turbulent perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and introduce our common irreverent, visionary sensibility to the audience.”
A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
